Its just about 7am and I should be back in Buenos Aires very soon. They're serving breakfast now. I forgot my sleeping drugs in my big bag, which is under the bus but I seemed to sleep well enough. The buses here are quite nice except for the sometimes much too loud movies they play til 10pm. The last couple of movies were in English with subtitles but they turned the volume too low to hear. Lol. Oh well. My iPod got some use and provided me some needed reminders of home.
Leaving Puerto Iguazu was another hectic adventure yesterday. I grabbed money from an ATM to pay for my $556 peso bus ride and left my card in the machine. Genius! 2 hours later, after a swim and a shower, I realized my mistake. I ran back and luckily there was an english speaking employee. He told me the machine had likely eaten my card and I'd have to come back tomorrow. Shit! I asked if he could see if anyone was kind enough to grab it and turn it in. He grabbed a stack of cards from the security desk and I recognized it immediately. "Gracias! Muchas gracias!", I proclaimed. I will survive this trip for another day.
I am very excited for Uruguay. It is supposed to be beautiful and more relaxed than Argentina. Colonia del Sacremento is a city with an old world with a rich history. Montevideo is supposed to have a lovely market, great cafes, beautiful beaches, and a close by wine country that has Vinod to rival Mendoza, Argentina. I hope I can fit it all in!
And now, random photos of my bus ride....

Nice bus!
ReplyDeleteI was just about to ask what kind of camera you were using for all of this, and the 8th shot down provided my answer. ;-)
